At Dr. Roof, one of our corporate missions is to give back to the community. This year, we will join Furkids at their new location in Cumming for a workday on Saturday, October 26th, 2019.

Furkids is the largest "no-kill" animal shelter in Georgia and we've never met folks with bigger hearts. In 2018 Furkids rescued more than 3500 dogs and cats and had over 3700 adoptions. With programs such as low-cost spay and neuter, feral / community cat assistance, foster, interstate transfer, and even multiple thrift stores, Furkids is a remarkable, life-saving organization. Animals who have no hope in a county shelter are taken in by the kind staff and volunteers. Many shelters cannot care for newborn puppies or injured cats but Furkids says "no problem" and finds foster families and funds necessary surgeries for the most vulnerable pets of all. They recently purchased a nine-acre site in Cumming that will become their new headquarters; allowing them to increase their ability to accept and adopt cats and dogs by thousands each year. As exciting as this is, the facility needs a lot of TLC and that's where Dr. Roof comes in.

Please join us on Saturday, October 26th! We are looking forward to building a new pergola, cleaning up their yard, planting some flowers, and helping to get the space ready for some furry friends to wait for their forever homes. All are welcome so bring your family, there will be activities for the kids and kids-at-heart. Many hands make light work and we look forward to a rewarding day of service!
